1,2,3....100. Day One Hundred is Here.

Today is DAY 100 of the 100-Day-Project - where people all over the world committed to do something, anything, creative for at least five minutes a day.

Some people opted to do random things, but many picked one particular project to work on.

I committed to work on my children's book that I am dedicating to the wisdom of my late husband. And while I need to admit I did not manage to be successful each and every one of the 100 days, I am pretty pleased with my progress.

I managed to do a bunch of research on self-publishing. I wrote and rewrote my story a few times. And I spent quite a few hours honing my Adobe Illustrator skills with the intention of doing all my own illustrations in the 31-page children's book that will bear my name on the cover.

But alas, one does not just decide to learn Illustrator and churn out a publishable book in 100 days. And I was getting rather stressed over the whole thing. But I'm in too far to throw in the towel on the entire project now.

Enter Fiverr. A rather handy little website I came across in my research during this 100 Days. I found a new friend in India who is willing to pimp out the job for nine dollars a page. Yeah, nine bucks. It's a no-brainer for me. And the graphics are way beyond anything I would have pulled off at this stage. And the entire job is done in less than 2 weeks, including samples, line drawings, full colour and a number of edits. And I own all commercial rights.

I am so excited that today, Day 100, I have 31 pages of graphics in my hot little hand.

I still have to do all the lay out and design for text and the cover and all that, so there is still work to do, but I'm starting to feel like the project is coming together.

I really hope to have a hard copy to flip through by September. And I trust y'all will have yer own copy shortly thereafter. I am thinking they will be available directly through me or through Amazon, but we can talk details a little later in the game.
